The Petroleum Residue Hydrogenation Catalyst Technology Gap Has Been Successfully Filled

On June 4, the fixed bed residue hydrogenation catalyst (PHR series) independently developed by China Petroleum and Petrochemical Research Institute succeeded in driving at the residue installation of Dalian Western Pacific Company, filling in the gap of CNPC residue hydrogenation catalyst technology.

 Residue hydrogenation is the most effective conversion and treatment of residue raw materials. Catalyst is the core technology, but its high-tech, difficult research and development, extremely harsh conditions, is a hard nut to crack, the core technology is only a few International companies hold. PetroChina existing residue hydrotreating capacity of 15 million tons per year, the annual import of about 5,000 tons of catalyst, accelerate the development of independent intellectual property catalyst technology is very urgent.

 After years of painstaking research, SINOPEC successfully developed six new catalyst preparation technologies, such as flexible control of pore structure and non-uniform distribution of active metals, and overcome the difficulties in preparation of special macroporous support for residue macromolecule diffusion. Design and development Out of the four major series of 12 residue resid hydrogenation catalysts with gradient, bimodal, unobstructed and integrated orifice integration features, the optimized gradation of various catalyst functions is achieved. PHR series of catalysts through small test, pilot test, industrial amplification, pilot plant 6000 hours of long-term operation and industrial equipment 10,000 hours hanging test, the results show that the catalyst performance indicators and the international advanced level, fully meet the existing Fixed bed residue hydrogenation technology needs.
